On Thursday, October 29, 2009 there were 7 participants in the Principal For A Day (PFAD):Christopher Bohus: Retired Accountant
Larry Jackson: President of Game Shape International
Seth McCormick: President of Harlan Alumni Association
Derrick Morrison: IH/GEMS Coordinator at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center and Harlan Alumn
James Patrick: Retired CPS Principal and Harlan Alumn
Honorable John Steele: Illinois Judicial Council and Harlan Alumn
Dr. Lynette Stokes-Wilson: Dean of Adult Education at Malcolm x College
The 7 participants in the PFAD were eager to attend as they were escorted by our Harlan JROTC and greeted by our Student Government members. Mr. Evans, Prinicpal, gave a brief introduction while the 7 participants enjoyed eating breakfast. The 7 participants had a chance to chat with our JROTC and Student Governments members and the students were anxious to receieve knowledge from the participants.
The JROTC and Student Government members escorted the 7 participants around the school where they were able to observe various classrooms, meet with our Assistant Principals Ms. Maudree Hudson and Mr. Durrell Anderson and talk to our students.
Our JROTC and Student Government members led the wrap up session with questions and the 7 participants headed downtown to the Hilton where a luncheon was given on behalf of Mayor Richard M. Daley and the Chicago Public Schools.
